People are demanding access to their green areas

Beirutis gathered up outside of the pine forest to request the opening of their unique green space which was closed since the end of the war. Their message is clear: the municipality must open up immediately the doors of this public park, for better or for worse.

Half of lebanese over age 15 have a bank account

Figures issued by the World Bank show that 47 percent of Lebanese over the age of 15 had an individual or a joint account at a formal financial institution at the end of 2014, up from 37 percent at the end of 2011. The World Bank defines a formal financial institution as a commercial bank, credit union, cooperative, post office or microfinance institution.
